ABOUT THE ARTIST

 

Christopher Vedvick is a photographer based in Saint Augustine, Florida. He

has spent his career honing his skills focusing on military themes and portrait

photography. As a combat-wounded veteran, Vedvick has a unique perspective

on military culture and the impact war has on veterans in society. He is a graduate of the University of North Florida (UNF) Bachelor of Fine Arts program with a concentration in photography. Vedvick was a recipient of the Lu Ann and Doran Weinstein Memorial Scholarship in Visual Arts in 2018.

Vedvick shapes narratives through his work that focuses on the human

experience and how the repercussions of war affect an individual’s perception of

their environment. His use of lighting and perspective allows him to challenge the

boundaries of storytelling through documentary photography — exploring the

depths of emotion and composition.
