In this project, I explored the effects that war has on the veteran population.  By examining the portraits of these warriors, I showed the tribalism that is inherent in their dress. By having each veteran write their own personal narrative on the sacrifices they made I was able to provide insight into the toll that war can take.

The reason I began this project was due to my own personal experience in war.  I was wounded in Afghanistan in 2002 and deployed a total of 7 times to Afghanistan and Iraq.  This project helps me explore my own experience and if I use patriotism as a crutch for justifying my trauma.
